Chief Navigator of the Gentry Eagle

Mike Angove heads maritime simulations and is an instructor for the Alaska Maritime Training Center at AVTEC – Alaska’s Institute of Technology in Seward Alaska. He operates and maintains integrated full mission and part task ship bridge simulators to train today’s professional mariners.

Mike holds a bachelors of Science degree in Computer Information Systems from University of Michigan. Mike has also studied electrical, electronics, and industrial controls at AVTEC. Other studies include automotive technology at Universal Technical Institute.

Mike enjoys being outdoors and challenges. Ice climbing, rock climbing, backpacking, kayaking, power boating, sailing are some of his passions. His summits include Mount Rainier in Washington, Mount Hood in Oregon, and Mount Washington in New Hampshire. He currently owns a 37-foot cruising sloop and explores the fjords of Southcentral Alaska.

He served as an officer in the United States Coast Guard Auxiliary. As a qualified boat crew member, Mike has served on 25 foot and 27 foot response boats. He has proudly assisted several mariners in distress.
